Your book makes one sale. Your companions make ten.
Workbooks, study guides, and reader's journals — built directly from your manuscript. The same content readers already love, in three new formats that sell for more than the book itself.
The companion economy
Companion downloads routinely outsell the book they came from. Indie authors selling on Gumroad and Stan see workbooks generate 2–4× the revenue of their Kindle title.
The Workbook
Reflection prompts, exercises, worksheets — printable PDF
$79
The Study Guide
Discussion questions for groups, classes, clubs, congregations
$99
The Reader's Journal
60–90 days of prompts in a beautifully designed printable
$79
The math indie authors don't talk about
Your book sells for $4.99. Your workbook sells for $29.
A Kindle book
The book makes $2–$7 per sale.
Amazon takes 30–65% of every Kindle sale. You build a list of readers, but the revenue per copy is modest. Volume is the only lever.
A companion download
The companion makes $29 per sale.
Sell direct on your own site, Gumroad, Stan, Substack, or Lemon Squeezy. Keep 100% of the revenue. Own the customer email. Build a real list.

The questions companion authors ask.
How do companion downloads make money?
You sell them direct — on your own site, Gumroad, Stan, Substack, Lemon Squeezy, or Etsy. Because you're not on Amazon's marketplace, you keep 100% of the revenue, set your own price ($19–$59 is the typical range), and own the customer email for future launches.
Do I need to write the workbook myself?
No. Atlas reads your manuscript and generates the workbook, study guide, or journal directly from your existing content. You review and approve. If you want to edit anything, every companion ships with an editable Canva template.
What if I didn't write my book through BookRealm?
That's what Path 02 is for. Upload any manuscript — Kindle book, Substack archive, course curriculum, anything — and Atlas builds companions from it. Pricing is slightly higher because we're starting fresh with your material instead of using a manuscript we already have.
Can I sell the companions on Amazon too?
Yes — but the math usually favors selling direct. On Amazon, you'd net $2–$7 per workbook copy. On Gumroad or Stan, you keep the full $29–$39. Most authors do both: a free or cheap version on Amazon for discoverability, a premium version sold direct.
How long does it take?
Atlas typically delivers all three companions within 48–72 hours of receiving your manuscript. Like everything in BookRealm, your review pace sets the final timeline. There's no enforced waiting period.
Do I keep my companion files?
Completely. Every companion includes perpetual ownership — the PDF, the editable Canva template, the source content, all of it. BookRealm never claims, licenses, or trains on your work.
